CS40 has a standard classically shaped non-cutaway body made of spruce and back and sides of meranti. The body is scaled down and measures at seven eights of the standard body. The neck on this model is made of nato and features a dovetail joint at the 12th fret. The fingerboard is made of ebony and features 19 frets without inlays.
